The E46 BMW 3-series was only sold as the 25i model in St. Louis, because that's what 90% of the ones for sale are.
Hell, even my aunt's E46 convertible was a 25i.
Was the 25i just a popular engine choice?

I think the -25i was the mid-range available at the time, between the 323i and the 330i. that's why it' so popular
